Acting Governor and DPRD Chairman Inaugurate the naming of Grha Ali Sadikin

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi inaugurated Grha Ali Sadikin, in the Main Lobby of City Hall, Monday (12/11).

The Block G building was named Grha Ali Sadikin

Grha Ali Sadikin is the name of the building which has been known as "Block G". The inauguration was also attended by one of Ali Sadikin's sons, namely Boy Sadikin.

The Acting Governor stated the naming of Block G to Grha Ali Sadikin is a form of respect and appreciation for the services and work of the 7th Jakarta Governor, Ali Sadikin, in leading the development of Jakarta Province from April 28, 1966 to July 1977.

"The Block G building was named Grha Ali Sadikin as a form of honoring him as our predecessor, who led Jakarta Province well," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

Aside that, the naming of Grha Ali Sadikin is also intended to provide historical value to Block G, which is in a historical area, namely Jakarta City Hall. By so, the building would no longer be called Block G, but Grha Ali Sadikin.

"Instead of the writing in the lobby being "Block G Building", it would be better to replace it with the name "Grha Ali Sadikin" who is the Governor of Jakarta. It's better and has historical value," he explained.

The same statement also came out from Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi or Pras. The inauguration of Grha Ali Sadikin was carried out to commemorate the services of the 7th Governor who had led Jakarta Province for two terms.

"Together with the family, today we will inaugurate Grha Ali Sadikin. This inauguration was carried out to commemorate the services of Ali Sadikin who has led Jakarta for two periods," he explained.

He hoped that more people would remember the figure of Ali Sadikin who contributed to developing Jakarta into a modern metropolitan city.
